Everyone loves horror movies once in a while, they’re thrilling and gets our adrenaline pumping. Not everyone believes in the same religion, but there are ten religious horror movies you wouldn’t want to miss, whether you believe in God or not. ”The Rite” and ”Red State” will fall into this genre, however, missing out on the ten below would be considered a sin!

1. The Exorcist (1973)

Regan MacNeil is absolutely adorable, when she’s not up to any of her tricks. About forty years have passed and William Friedkin’s hugely successful film still remains as horrifying.

2. The Omen (1976)

Richard Donner used Johnny Rotten’s words about being “an anti-Christ” in a more literal way in his religion-thriller film. Satan is unexpectedly adopted by Gregory Peck in this three sequel blockbuster.

3. Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

Is Mia Farrow really pregnant with Satan’s baby? Watch Roman Polanski’s thriller to find out!

4. Martyrs (2008)

It’s better to be ignorant about Patrice Laugier’s religiously horrifying movie before watching it than to know every single horrifying detail. With this film, it’s best to just say, “expect the unexpected.”

5. [REC] (2007)

Religious possession has a biological cause and a cure. However, it is certainly contagious. This classic film was also remade as Quarantine, without its religious plot.

Head here for the rest if the list.

I have to say...I am not really a fan of scary movies...it kinda of creeps me out! >0< I get to scared to go somewhere by myself! But some are good to watch! Thank you so much for sharing the list. I might end up watching some of them with my family.

I am like much of a fan of horror even I don’t scare by watching it. I’ll get scared when I’m trying to sleep. The pictures look scary. Thanks for sharing the list of horror movies.

I like watching horror movies, but just looking at the pictures, I don’t think I would watch them alone though XD

I am not really a fan of horror movies...but I will sure give this list to my sister!!! Thanks for sharing!

the exorcist is the only one i’ve seen from the list though
i should probably check out the others
thanks for sharing the list!

Religious horrors really aint my thing… perhaps it is because of the excessive supernatural themes that are usually involved.

lol i’m such a wimp when it comes to horror movies xD

Eh. Religious horrors aren’t really my thing. I’m more into the standard angry ghosts and bio-apocalypse sort of scenario.

I’m not a huge fan of horror films at all ! XD
