“Bones” leading lady, Emily Deschanel recently revealed that her and husband David Hornsby are expecting their first child in late 2011. Congrats to the couple! But what could this mean for the thriller-crime series?

An off-camera pregnancy is bound to affect production, but for better or worse? The way most people see it, one of three scenarios could occur in the not-yet-confirmed-but-obviously-happening seventh season.

1. Brennan gets pregnant too
There have been many hints that Booth and Brennan will get together by the end of the sixth season, and as many unexpected parents know, one time is all it takes. There is, of course, the possibility that Brennan gets pregnant by some other man, but nobody really wants that to happen. It’s all too clear that out favorite crime-solving duo will get together at some point. They’ve faced enough third-wheels and obstacles.

2. Strategically-placed corpses
The classic TV manuever to cover baby bumps with props is all too common on sitcoms - pillows, lamps, turkeys - so imagine how much fun they’re going to have placing rotting, disfigured body parts around Deschanel. As disgusting as that sounds, that seems like something the ‘Bones’ writers are more likely to play around with.

3. A summer delivery leaves the show unaffected
As interesting as the above scenarios sound, the probability that her baby won’t affect production is highly likely. Dechanel has yet to share her due date, and it’s fairly probable that it will occur sometime during the summer, while we sit through all the reruns. Though it is natural to assume that she will be missing one or two episodes in order to take care of the newborn. Yes, even the celebrities have to take time off for maternity leave.
