Anyone remember the name Steve Urkel? Well, he’s got a NEW job now, and he’s much older!

Now, I know many of the Ningin users may not know this man, or his role as ‘Steve Urkel’ on the old show ‘Family Matters‘, but I assure you it happened to be a very funny show when I was younger. Way younger, but younger nonetheless. In any case he’s shrugged out of his ‘nerdy boy’ role and fitted himself with the role of host to SyFy’s new show ‘Total Blackout‘, where contestants face not only their worst fears, but also other contestants, and ALL under the blanket of darkness. That’s right, folks, you do stuff in the dark and you have no idea if there are other people in the room, or creepier things like spiders and snakes. (Actually I like snakes. Have a spider phobia though.)

Mark Stern, SyFy network’s President of Original Content, had this to say.

“Total Blackout brings to life, in a wonderfully clever, intense and funny way, what can happen when your imagination runs away with you. We’re also very excited to be partnered with a company like FreemantleMedia, who are using their amazing expertise to make this show one that makes you gasp and laugh in the same breath.”

Yeah, ok. Sorry, I would not be laughing if I were on a show like that. They’d find out what I was most afraid of, use it against me for tv audience entertainment, and I’d be screaming the entire time.

Good to know Mr. White has a new job, and lets all make sure he keeps his nerdy boy persona far, FAR away, alright? And keep them spiders away too. *shudders* Now if only they could make good horror movies, I’d be happy!

What do you guys think of him getting a newer job and getting rid of his old ‘Urkel’ role? And what do you think about the new show?
