A small town, Pacashau , experiences some hard times, and the residents depend on the Divinity Church Choir to lift them out of their slumps by winning the National Joyful Noise Competition. The choir sings in wonderful harmony, but the differences between the leading ladies threatens a break up.

A newly appointed director, Vi Rose Hill, intends on sticking to traditional styles, while G.G. Sparrow thinks that they should go for a more modern approach.

Making things even more entertaining is the arrival of G.G’s grandson, Randy. He has his eye on Vi Rose’s daughter and the heat caused between the two youngsters is more noticeable than the fighting between the leading ladies.

Only once the pair comes to an agreement, will the choir be able to make a joyful noise.
