So back in 2008, Lionsgate purchased Summit Entertainment with $412.5m, which includes the release of Breaking Dawn Part 2. But looks like they aren’t ready to just let these money-earning vampires go, for they are now thinking of continuing Twilight even after BD Part 2.
Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lionsgate, has expressed his hopes towards continuing Twilight in some form, perhaps in more films or in television, “I’m anticipating ‘Breaking Dawn Part 2′ being $700 million-plus in worldwide box office.”
Furthermore, he added, “It’s hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn’t have ongoing value. It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is ‘Boy I hope so.’
I really don’t like the idea of continuing on with the series. It’s to a point where everything is completely done, and they’ll just need to face the fact like J.K. Rowling does with her books - the end is the end, and sometimes, one more movie may just kill the entire elegance.
Plus, what are they going to film about? Renesmee and Jacob’s love story? Because that’s going to be a little messed up until she grows up.
