The Academy Awards producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer have invited Cirque du Soleil to be one of the performers for the Oscars.

This will be the second time the troupe performs in the awards show. This year’s performance features more than 50 artists in a three-minute performance, making it the largest Cirque cast ensemble ever. Cirque du Soleil special events director Yasmine Khalil shares that the upcoming performance showcases a specially created act using music penned by Academy Award-nominated composer Danny Elfman.

The troupe was reluctant to perform on television because they felt as though a lot of it got lost in translation however they appreciated the success of their first performance. “That boosted our confidence knowing that we’re comfortable in front of the camera,” Khalil said.

It was reported that Cirque du Soleil have been working on their routine since before Christmas.
Be sure to watch out for them at the Oscars on Feb. 26.
